A man was hospitalized early Wednesday after being shot inside a bar on the Southwest Side, San Antonio police said.

The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. at a bar in the 3800 block of Nogalitos Street, near South Zarzamora Street.

A police preliminary report states the alleged shooter and a 59-year-old man were inside the bar and had an argument.

During the argument, police said the man was shot in the leg. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said the alleged shooter ran from the scene. Police at the scene said a person of interest was later taken into custody a few blocks away.

At this time, it’s unclear what what led to the gunfire.

The investigation is ongoing.
