Posted

Kentucky State Police has confirmed it is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Paris Police Department on Second Street in Paris.

KSP says Paris Police requested the agencys assistance with the investigation.

Few details have been released. KSP says the investigation remains in its early stages, and officials cannot yet confirm whether anyone was injured or killed.

An LEX News crew at the scene has confirmed a large law enforcement presence, including members of KSP, ATF and the Paris Police Department.

A vehicle at the scene appears to have crashed into a building, but LEX News has not confirmed whether the crash is connected to the shooting.

A woman who lives a couple of doors down from the scene said she was feeding her baby when she heard what she believed were gunshots.

I heard what I thought to believe was gunshots and sure enough it was. I was in disbelief from it because, I mean, its a quiet area. Ive never... Paris in general is usually, you never hear nothing like that go on here," Elizabeth Buckler said.
