FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LAS VEGAS, Nevada – October 19, 2026 – The Board of Directors of Jewish Family Service Agency (JFSA) today announced a leadership transition as President & CEO Dr. Kenneth Moskowitz concludes his tenure following 11 years of dedicated service to the organization.

During Ken’s tenure, JFSA has experienced significant growth, expanding its programs, services, partnerships, and reach throughout Clark County and into rural Nevada. The organization now serves more than 25,000 individuals annually, has grown its annual budget from less than $1 million to $8.5 million, and expanded its team from 7 employees to more than 65.

The Board is also pleased to announce that Lisa Popovsky, JFSA’s Director of Senior Services, has accepted the role of Interim CEO and will work closely with Dr. Kenneth Moskowitz during this transition.

Popovsky has been part of the JFSA team for nearly 10 years and brings more than 35 years of nonprofit leadership experience spanning organizational management, resource development, program design, community engagement, and agency leadership. She has played a key role in JFSA’s growth and impact, helping expand senior services and secure millions of dollars in funding from foundation, local, state, and federal sources.

“I am honored to help lead JFSA through this important transition,” said Popovsky. “We have an extraordinary team and a strong foundation on which to build. Our focus remains on our mission, our clients and continuing to provide the programs and services our community relies upon.”

“We are grateful to Ken for his 11 years of dedicated service and his contributions during an important chapter in JFSA’s history,” said Doug Gold, Co-Chair of the JFSA Board of Directors. “Lisa’s institutional knowledge, operational experience, proven leadership, and strong relationships throughout our community make her the ideal person to provide continuity during this transition.”

The Board has established a comprehensive transition plan focused on ensuring continuity of leadership while maintaining JFSA’s commitment to the programs and services the community relies upon. Details regarding the search for JFSA’s next President & CEO will be shared as they are finalized. In the meantime, JFSA’s senior leadership team will continue serving as primary points of contact for staff, funders, partners, and community stakeholders throughout the transition.

JFSA’s mission and commitment to the community remain unchanged. Programs and services continue without interruption, supported by a strong foundation built through years of growth in people, programs, infrastructure, and community reach.

As JFSA approaches its 50th anniversary in 2027, the Board remains focused on expanding access to programs and services, strengthening community partnerships, increasing JFSA’s reach and visibility, and building upon the organization’s legacy of service for years to come.

The organization wishes Dr. Moskowitz well in his future endeavors.
