DEP: Contaminated Water Tank Failed Causing Release At Diversified Production LLC Conventional Oil & Gas Well Site In Warren County

Posted
On October 19, 2026, the Department of Environmental Protection did an inspection of the Diversified Production LLC Messenger 1 conventional oil and gas well site in Spring Creek Township, Warren County in response to an October 15 notification of a release at the site.

A Diversified representative said a poly storage tank containing contaminated water from the well “failed and resulted in the release” of an unknown amount of contaminated water at the site.

The release contaminated an area around the tank and downslope.

By the time of the inspection, Diversified had removed the failed poly tank and was in the process of installing a new poly tank on an unaffected portion of the well site.

The owner was also excavating a portion of the contaminated soil around the tank and 20 additional feet downslope.

Multiple violations were issued.  A response was requested by November 4.
